Welcome to the Website of WCAG 2018
We are pleased to invite you to the 5th World Congress on Adult Guardianship – WCAG 2018.
This year’s congress will be held in Seoul for three days between 23rd and 25th October 2018, and we will hold an optional workshop on the 26th. This year’s event is hosted by the Supreme court of Korea, Ministry of Justice of Korea and Korean Guardianship Association (KGA).
The congress seeks to continue the spirit of the Yokohama Declaration and establish an international guiding principle for the protection of rights of senior citizens and persons with impairment to decision making abilities.
With approximately 500 international experts, legal practitioners, and academics from 40 different countries, the congress will provide a platform for discussion of guardianship systems in different cultures and other schemes for persons with disabilities and the elderly, current practices and problems, and possible solutions.
The main theme of this congress is Living Together with Persons with Cognitive Impairments in the Communities.
